Pathogenic or sterile samples can be sonicated without opening the tube. In this cup-horn unit, 4–10 sealed tubes of 1.5–50 mL sit in a 60–100 mm cup of chilled water held at 4–10 °C, while 100–1,000 W of 20 kHz energy passes through the titanium horn. No probe touches the sample. Ask about chiller options.
