Roller operators need density readings while the mat is still hot enough to compact. This gauge reads asphalt density from 1.6 to 2.8 g/cm³ in about 3 s, with depth selectable from 25 to 100 mm to match the lift. Temperature compensation works on mats up to 175 °C, and repeatability is ±0.008 g/cm³.
