Edges and coatings survive preparation when the specimen is properly mounted. This press works up to 200 °C and 30 MPa, cycling in 5–15 min with water or air cooling. Moulds of 25, 30, 40 or 50 mm accept phenolic, epoxy or acrylic powders, and some models take 1–6 specimens per cycle.
