Hydrogen embrittlement in welds and high-strength steel is controlled by measuring diffusible and total hydrogen. This determinator heats 0.5–5 g samples at 150–400 °C for diffusible hydrogen or fuses them up to about 2500 °C for total, detecting about 0.1 ppm. Precision is ≤2% at 10 ppm. Total runs take 2 min, diffusible 5–15 min.
