On this lever-type tester a 70 N dead weight presses a 90° steel stylus of HRC 54–56 onto a fixed specimen, and the lever draws it 10 mm across the surface. The vice takes specimens up to 100 × 100 × 60 mm, and 10 styli are supplied.
