Whether a crack can be surface-sealed or must be injected depends on how deep it runs. This single-sided tester places two 50 kHz transducers either side of the crack and estimates depth from 10 to 500 mm to ±10%. Transit time resolves to 0.1 µs, and waveforms are stored with each of up to 5000 tests.
