LEDs, laser diodes and fibre-coupled sources spread light too widely for a flat detector to capture it all. This 100 mm PTFE-coated integrating sphere collects total flux through a 12 mm port onto a silicon photodiode. It covers 350–1100 nm and 1 µW to 20 W, with ±2% uniformity and ±5% accuracy.
