Turbine and hydraulic oil buyers often ask for an RPVOT figure, and plant engineers use it to watch antioxidant reserve in service. Fifty grams of oil sits in a bomb charged to 620 kPa, rotating at 100 ± 5 rpm in a 150 ± 0.1 °C bath until pressure falls 175 kPa from peak. Choose 2–8 positions and oil bath or dry block heating.
