Whole brain slices, bone blocks and plant tissue are often too large for a rotary instrument. This sliding microtome takes blocks up to 150 × 100 mm with a stroke of 200 mm, cuts 1–100 µm in 1 µm steps and sets the knife at 0–25°. A freezing stage to –40 °C and a motorized slide are options.
