A central hinge makes the stiffening girder statically determinate, which makes cable tension influence lines easy to derive and check. This 1200 mm span model with a 120 mm sag has a lockable central hinge, so it also runs as two-hinged. A 0–500 N anchorage load cell reads tension at 0.1 N while a 0–50 N rolling load crosses the 23-hanger deck.
