Most assay labs prepare pressed pellets and fire-assay pulps on a disc mill like this. It grinds 100–400 g of ≤ 2–5 mm feed below 75 µm, down to 40 µm, in 1–3 min at 900–1500 cycles/min. Bowls range from 100 to 2000 mL in four materials. Motor power is 0.75–2.2 kW.
