Setting time is measured on mortar sieved from the concrete, and hand-sieving a heavy sample is slow and inconsistent. This set vibrates the concrete through a 4.75 mm stainless sieve on a 50 Hz frame into a 500 × 500 mm tray. Three Ø 160 × 150 mm lidded containers and a Ø 16 mm rod complete the preparation.
