Tile Abrasion Testers — Building Materials Testing Equipment

A floor tile's abrasion class tells specifiers where it can go, from bathrooms to shopping malls, so the rating has to be repeatable. We build multi-station PEI surface abrasion testers for glazed tiles, deep abrasion testers for unglazed and porcelain bodies, rotary platform abrasers for tile and stone, and viewing cabinets for judging worn specimens. Glazed or unglazed product and the number of specimens per run decide the model. The PEI tester follows ISO 10545-7 and ASTM C1027; the deep abrasion unit runs ISO 10545-6.
