Heat of Hydration Calorimeters — Cement & Mortar Testing Equipment

Low-heat cements for dams, mass foundations and thick rafts are specified by their heat of hydration, and mix designers use the same data to control thermal cracking. We supply a heat of solution calorimeter, a semi-adiabatic Langavant calorimeter, a multi-channel direct-method tester, an 8-channel isothermal conduction calorimeter and a single-channel isothermal unit for admixture screening. Required method, test age and number of samples decide the choice. The range covers BS EN 196-8, BS EN 196-9 and ASTM C1702.

How to specify

  1. Check which method your specification names: solution, semi-adiabatic and isothermal results are not interchangeable.
  2. Place calorimeters in a room held within ± 2 °C to protect baseline stability.
  3. Order a reference cement or calibration heater to verify the instrument constant.
