Moving samples from a separate bath to the penetrometer lets them drift off temperature. This unit tests directly in a built-in 10 L bath held at 5–40 °C to ± 0.1 °C by compressor refrigeration, with three cups conditioned beside the test station. Penetration reads 0–500 at 0.01 mm, and the printer gives the average of three determinations.
