This digital penetrometer releases the needle electromagnetically for a 5 s default, settable 1–99 s with ± 0.1 s accuracy, and reads 0–500 penetration at 0.01 mm resolution. An LED lamp and magnifier help set the needle tip exactly on the sample surface.
