Piling contracts routinely require a percentage of piles to be checked for breaks, necking and length. This tester records a hammer blow on the pile head through an accelerometer sampling at up to 100 kHz with 24-bit resolution. Piles up to about 50 m can be assessed, using 0.35 kg or 1.4 kg nylon-tipped hammers.
