Proteome comparisons, PTM profiling and biomarker discovery separate proteins by pI and then by size. This 2D system focuses IPG strips of 7, 11, 13, 18 or 24 cm (pH 3–10, 3–11 NL, 4–7 or 6–11) at up to 10,000 V and 100 µA per strip, at about 10–20 °C. Second-dimension gels are about 200 x 200 mm at up to 600 V.
