Diesel lubricity is a release parameter for refiners and additive suppliers, and the HFRR is how it gets measured. A 6 mm AISI 52100 ball rubs over a 1 mm stroke at 50 Hz (10–200 Hz available) under 2 N for 75 min. Only 2 mL of fuel is needed, held at the standard 60 °C or anywhere in 25–150 °C.
