Organic matter in sand can retard cement setting and lower strength, so concrete sand is routinely screened with a simple colour test. We supply graduated glass bottle sets, a glass colour standard comparator, a digital colorimeter for objective readings, an EN humus content set and a field kit for checks at the pit. Whether you need a visual pass/fail or a recorded number decides the choice. Typical references are ASTM C40, AASHTO T 21 and BS EN 1744-1.
