The Fraass breaking point shows how cold a binder can get before a thin film cracks under bending. We offer a manual Fraass apparatus with alcohol and dry-ice cooling, a semi-automatic model with compressor refrigeration, a fully automatic tester with optical crack detection, a heated plate-coating device and spare spring-steel plate sets. Cooling method and how objectively you need to judge the crack decide the choice. All testers apply the 1 °C/min cooling rate and bending cycle of BS EN 12593.
